DESIGN APPROACH

The Design Partnership design process evolves from the client's program and site, moving through the following phases:

 

•Programming & Planning  (PP)

 

•Pre-Design

 

•Schematic Design  (SD)

 

•Design Development (DD)

 

•Construction Documents (CDs)

 

•Construction Observation (CO)

 

Ideally the first step in beginning a project is a site visit.  While not always required, it can be beneficial to the final design.  The inital visit ensures the design will incorporate all of the site's features, including:

 

•Views

 

•Sunshine - for both natural lighting and heating.

 

•Wind - for both natural cooling and for blocking undesirable gusts and chills.

 

•Shading - designed using the existing trees, positioning of the home, and with roof overhangs.
